Hello my name is Jose Lara, I am trying to go on a culture exchange experience and I want to help the people in Cambodia. Help me out and spread my word or help me by donate. If you can help anything is fine every dollar counts. Over the next several months, I will be actively engaged in learning about and addressing needs in my home community and in Cambodia. I am writing to ask for your support.
I am a member of a team of committed individuals who will volunteer locally before travelling to Cambodia in July 2014. Over the past several weeks, my teammates and I have been actively preparing for this experience. We will help the Cambodia YMCA by teaching digital media skills to the young adults and bonding with children of the Street Children’s Project through teambuilding activities. We will be providing clothing, food, school supplies and a monetary donation to the Street Children’s Project. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to contribute to the world YMCA movement through service and learning.
In order to represent the YMCA of Greater Long Beach in Cambodia, I will need to raise $4,000 to fund the trip. These funds are necessary to cover transportation, food, accommodations, a cultural experience in Angkor Wat and a donation to the Street Children’s Project at the YMCA in Cambodia. 100% of the funds will go towards this YMCA service-learning experience.
