Send Guy Giard Humanitarian Clown to Tamil Nadu, India
“Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead, Anthropologist.
From November 1st to 22nd, I will be visiting as a Humanitarian Clown hospitals, orphanages and nursing homes in Vellore, Southern India.
Humanitarian Clowns travel around the world to enter disadvantaged communitiesto make difficult situations better. We entertain and provide humor, support, love, understanding,a shoulder to cry onand show that someone really does care. We give back to the communities something that not many have the chance to give : hope and laughter! This trip is organised by Humanitarian Clowns Australia in partneship with Seb's Projects India.
Who is Guy Giard, Humanitarian Clown?
For the last 20 years, I've been using humor as an art teacher with children, adults, seniors, Alzheimer patients and individuals with special needs. Last March I travelled as a Humanitarian Clown with thefamous Dr Patch Adams in Guatemala.
As I clowned with the children, I gave them all my creativity, playfulness, joyfulness, deep love and care. I can still feel this compassionate exchanging of love, laughter, tears, hugs, and twinkle in their eyes. I've touched the lives of hundreds of children and their caretakers and I want to keep on giving.
As a child I’ve always asked myself: ‘How is it possible that we send people to the moon while half the planet is starving?’ This feeling comes deep from within me and still resonates loudly today. If you ever dreamt of a better world, I will be your heart and smilesto the people who need love and caring in their most personal hardships. Let me offer you this opportunity, together we can give backto the community!
I will also continue to pay forward by promoting the actions of Humanitarian Clowns on my Citizen Clown blog, publications and public speaking events. I hope to give a workshop at the next Association for Applied Therapeutic Humor conference in Philadelphia, 2015.

About Seb’s Projects India : Across India, thousands of people are stigmatised and abandoned as a result of disability and illness. Seb's Project India was established with the vision of reaching out to the poorest and most vulnerable lives in India, and helping them one at a time.
