My name is Enyo Kim and I am currently a student at University of California, Riverside. This summer, some members from a student ministry at school called KCM (Korean-American Campus Missions) and I will be going on short-term summer mission trips. The mission of KCM is to obey the Great Commission by mobilizing and disciplining college students. Specifically, my team and I will be going to Turkey, for Jesus has commanded us to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you..." (Matthew 28:19, 20 ESV) where we will share the gospel with the people there and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
The country of Turkey stood out to me because of the growing persecution against Christians there and the large Muslim population (about 95% of total population). I also wanted to see firsthand where the apostle Paul made many of his missionary travels.
We are in need of much prayer. I would like to ask you to please pray for:
1) myself; that I would be able to be an encouraging teammate, a humble trainee, and a loving brother to those I meet in the mission field, and
2) my team; that we would have a safe trip and learn much about what God is doing outside our permanent residences.
3) the country of Turkey; that God would soften the hearts of the people advance His kingdom there.
Our team is also in need of financial contributions to help cover the $3,500 cost of our month-long stay overseas and training expenses. Just as many are called to go on missions, many are also called to send; your prayers and contributions are just as important as our being in the mission field and with your help, we will be that much closer to be making disciples not only of our college students, but of all nations including Turkey. Please join us and send the reply card in the self-addressed envelope accordingly so that I may meet my $1,750 halfway deadline on May 18 and my $3,500 final deadline on June 23.
