The Story

Funny story:  While down in El Salvador last year for Habitat For Humanity, I met a group at the hotel we were staying at that was from Long Island.  Can we say small world?  I feel so blessed to be joining this team from The Presbytery of Long Island on their 20th year of service to this amazing country.  I am even more honored to serve as the translator on this mission.  We will be working in our adopted community of Berlin in the Department of Usulatan, El Salvador.  During our stay, we will be fellowshipping with the community, providing potable water solutions, medical and dental clinics, assist with self sustainable farming solutions and much much more. We are there for whatever they need as we have adopted an entire community and if we can't accomplish it, we have partnered with The Helping Hands Foundation, a global relief organization which can facilitate solutions to those in need.We also have a chidren's ministry and newly added to the repetoir this year: an adult ministry.  We found that it is important to not only teach the children about Jesus, but to remind the adult of how loved they really are.  Most individuals living in poverty don't feel loved or feel worthy enough to recieve love.  It is our job as missionaries to let them know just how loved they are because of how loved WE are.  I thank you for your support!

Funds Allocations Breakdown:

$700 covers my airfare

$600 covers my lodging, food and transportation while in the country

$200 is for miscellaneous missions costs such as gas to pick up donations from various places, baggage fees, visa to enter El Salvador, unforeseen travel costs, etc..

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

So 13% of my goal has been raised so far in the first week of my fundraising efforts. This is wonderful news!  Please share the link to my fundraising site with anyone you can. I am so grateful to all of my donors and my donors to come!  We're all in this together! If the fundraiser continues at this momentum, it will take me about 8 weeks (56 days) to reach my goal. I've calculated this to map out a fundraising plan my supporters can see. I've also done this in hopes that you will keep this in prayer. Your continued prayer for this mission is what will make it a success in every way possible.
So if you're reading this and on the fence about donating, take a leap of faith and do it. Yeah you may have to sacrifice a nice meal out or those new pair of shoes you wanted, but think about all the good your donation is doing. In rural communities such as Berlín where I will be working, there are many adolescent mothers who don't know what it's like to have a childhood because they were forced to grow up so fast. Many reasons for these young marriages and courtships is because women are seeking a man to provide for them and to lift the burden off of their families. In our culture it may seem "wrong" or "inappropriate" but marrying young in many other cultures is acceptable, expected and a means of survival. My teammates were recounting how many of these young mothers were taking part in the children's activities long with the kids. They've missed out on what a lot of us take for granted. Your donation will allow this ministry to help these young women connect with other young women in their community who have similar stories. I mean think about it: isn't it a blessing to live child-like? Doesn't The Lord call us to come to Him as His children?

Howdy, Loved Ones!

Well I'm on Day 3 and so far I've received 2 generous donations!  God is good!  Your support is so appreciated and so important to get this mission going!  I do have faith that if He ordains it, He will provide!  I just wanted to share an awesome message I got from someone I don't know but appreciate so much!  The message reads: "Reaching out to let you know how much your Faith is admired! Thank you for being a Vessel of GOD! : )"  This message could not have come at a better time. Just as I was feeling weak and doubting myself, I opened my inbox to this.  I am so grateful to our God who comforts us in our weakness.  He satisfies our fleshly desires to know that He is near in so many ways; even in the form of an encouraging email.  Love ones, please keep me in prayer that I remain steadfast through this process. I can't tell you how felt and needed your prayers are.  Also, I would love to hear from you!  Whether it's to answer any questions you may have or to feast on your loving comments.  You can send me a private message directly on here or comment on the fundraising page itself.  May The Lord bless you and keep you!  I love you!
