Taber Smith will be running his 12th marathon (26.2 miles) on April 6th in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and his second of three fundraisers for Aldersgate UMC Youth. Here are some thoughts from Taber: I run for two simple reasons- to stay healthy and for those who cannot. When I race I often think of my family members who have passed before me and try to show my kids that exercise is fun and important regardless of your age. I always know that I won’t win the race but I also know that I won’t finish last, so I give it my best and have fun. I’m excited to help raise funds for the Aldersgate UMC Youth because I have seen the impact they make on peoples’ lives. Their generosity of their time and talent makes communities better. These kids have absolute joy and love in their hearts and it is contagious! In the past I have run Montreal, New York City, and Chicago raising over $30,000 for charity. Most of the donations were small but given from the heart. Please feel free to give anything you can- whether it be per mile (26.2), a flat donation, or just your prayers and encouragement! Anything and everything is appreciated immensely. The marathons I have run to date are: Philadelphia, San Diego, Steamtown, Marine Corps, Arizona, New York City (twice), Chicago, Mount Desert Island, Virginia Beach, and Montreal. Thank you so much!
