A Village of Us refers to the old saying that "it takes a village to raise a child." As parents of a 5 and 3 year old, we can definitely attest to that! We would be lost without our village. It's amazing just how big our village really is when we need them most. It encompasses so much more than just moral support, babysitters, role models, play dates, preschool carpools, and soccer practices. (Don't get me wrong, those are all vital village tasks, too!)
But this time, we are asking our village to extend a little farther. 5243 miles farther, to Bulgaria where we are seeking to adopt a child to add to our family. We know it will be a long, hard road to get there, just like with our biological daughters, but we are encouraged by all the prayers, happy thoughts, and supportive words that have helped us take the leap. We are asking you, our village, to help us complete our family by giving an orphan a home, a family, and a village of his own. Not just any orphan, our son.
We haven't met him yet, but here's what we do know. He's never known the unconditional love, safety, and support of a family. He's never cried out at night and been comforted by a mother's embrace. He doesn't receive all the medical, physical, and emotional attention he needs. He has no idea what it's like to have two big sisters doting on him. Or been spoiled by a seemingly endless supply of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that are dying to meet him. You can help provide this for him. You can be that village.
We trust that God will provide the funds needed to complete this adoption. One way may be through the help of friends and family like you. With that in mind, we ask that you consider being a part of our village. Please pray that God will make it possible for us to bring our son/daughter home. Consider contributing to our adoption fund in any way that you can. We appreciate you, Village.
All our love and thanks,
Ashley & Michael Eddie
Village of Us
It takes a village, it takes us all
To raise them up, to answer the call.
How can I help? What can I do?
A village of us, STARTS WITH YOU!
A mother?#39;s resolve, a child's plea
All for the sake of family.
More than a "why," so much bigger than "how"
No time for waiting, someday is now.
So much to plan, even more to discuss
It takes a village, a village of us.
