The Story

Funeral services for Lorraine Westervelt, 48
[Joseph A. Lucchese Funeral Home in the Bronx, NY on December 14th, 2014, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and on December 15th, from 10:00 – 11:30 am].

Lorraine passed away on December 10th at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City.  She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Lorraine Gonzalez was born on November 28, 1966, in New York City.  She led an active life; constantly serving and leading with the PTA, Brownies, and the children’s school program in her church.  Lorraine was an event planner that coordinated dozens of weddings, dating events, father/daughter dances, and holiday shows.  One of her dreams was to save enough money from event planning to provide a college education for her two children.

Lorraine was always a giving person and poured out her life to countless women as a mentor, counselor, and teacher of God’s holy word.  She enjoyed meeting new people and loved to travel.  Some of her travels took her to Brazil, Italy, Colorado, California, Puerto Rico, Fiji, and the Dominican Republic (not necessarily in that order).

Lorraine is survived by her husband Robert; they were married for 11 years.  She is also survived by her two children, Caroline and Garrett, her mother Luz, her sister Arlene, and her brother Ashley; all of whom she loved tremendously.
