A warm and heartfelt THANK YOU for helping make the Trees for Sophia project a reality. I feel so proud to say we reached the goal of providing trees in 3 cities. These trees will be a beautiful and peaceful place of life where Sophia's parents, her family and friends can remember and honor her spirit. I am happy to say that we also will be planting roses in the community garden in Gantry Park which is near where Stephanie lived in NYC. Any donations that go above the amount needed will be forwarded to Sophia's Fund at Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Thank you not only for your donations but also for many of you who participated in the social media push by sharing the link and changing your profile pics on Facebook. Thank you to the people who donated who did not know Stephanie or Michael, but who nonetheless were touched by the strength of Sophia's spirit. And a special thank you to Mike Caffrey and Zara Ahmad-Post who helped put together the beautiful video of Sophia Mina on the YouCaring site.
Please continue to follow Sophia's story at http://sophiamina.wordpress.com/
I will post on FB when more info on the trees become a reality. In the next few weeks, I will be working with the different parks departments to choose locations and trees. You can add me as a friend if you would like to follow along. My email address on FB is [email protected].
Likewise, you can add me on Instagram where I will use the tag #treesforsophia (and I hope you do too if you visit a tree) when the trees and roses are planted. My Instagram name is Pondblue.
I hope this finds you all happy, healthy and warm. Thank you again.
