The Story

Ashley Picco was a rare light, a gracious care giver, and deeply in love with her husband Chris. They were looking forward to becoming parents and raising their son together. Tragically and unexpectedly her life was cut short. We grieve with Chris and their extended family.

As individuals and community, it is difficult to know how to respond. This is just one tangible way we can all honor Ashley, bless Chris, and grieve together. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and goodwill.

We established this fund to help ensure Ashley's husband and family face fewer financial challenges in the time to come.  100% of these funds will go to Chris for expenses.

(There is a small fee for credit and debit transactions, charged by the credit card companies that will come out of the donation amount, when encountered.)

Once this initial donation drive is over, additional donations can be made to this fund, free of charge, at Garden Pediatrics either by calling 909-792-8866 extension 1 or info@gardenpediatrics.com or by visiting us in person at 101 E. Redlands Blvd, Suite 106, Redlands, CA 92373.  At the office, we can take additional donations types as well such as Square, Google Wallet, PayPal, as well as cash, check, credit and debit cards.  At the practice, Garden Pediatrics will pay any/all transaction fees so that 100% of your donation will always go to Chris.

NOTE:  Ashley works for Brett and Cameo at Garden Pediatrics.  Brett is the CFO of the practice and set up a unique account for Chris.  You may see Brett Walls listed as the beneficiary, but the funds are going to Chris's account.

From Chris:

Good morning friends; today is the day we gather to celebrate Ashley. Her short, potent life brought so many people together and taught them how to live to the fullest, and to cherish every moment. Whether you are able to be physically present at the memorial service, or would like to join us online, there is a way to walk through this with us. More info here: piccomemorial.com

From Chris:

Good morning friends; many have been reaching out and sharing their stories of unbelievable loss. The ripple of strength and hope is growing and good will win out in the face of such unthinkable loss. Words are so few, so I wanted to share this song as a prayer for those of you who are also suffering. When I sang these words a couple of years ago they did not carry the deep earnestness that I have at this moment. Love to you all. Cherish those you are with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B5ThTpYbHY

From Chris:

Hi everyone,

I can't begin to express the gratitude that I have for each and every one of you for your thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences. There are a number of stories circulating about the cause of Ashley's death and I wanted to share that the results of the examination are not complete yet. What we know is Ashley passed peacefully. As information becomes available, I will do my best to share. Thank you for your continued presence through this journey.

From Chris:

Dear friends, family, and supporters; it is with an unbelievably heavy heart that I write this. My little fighter, Lennon James Picco went to sleep in his daddy's arms late last night. He was surrounded by family, friends, and the best doctors, nurses and hospital staff in the world. He was dressed in an outfit that Ashley bought for him, with little guitars on it, and wrapped in a blanket made by a dear friend. I am so thankful for the four unforgettable days I got to spend with him. His mommy would have been so beyond joy to see him and to hold him, touch him, bathe him, sing to him - as I have had the privilege of doing. I have been so blessed and honored to love him before he was formed, to cherish him while mommy carried him, meet him face to precious face, and hold his perfect little body while we said "goodbye for now". There are no words, but I wanted to keep you updated, as your love and support has meant more than anything in the world. All you need is love.

From Chris:

Ashley would often feel Lennon moving to music so I brought my guitar today and gave him a little concert  Continue to pray for a miracle for my precious, perfect little guy!  I also want to thank Chet Williams for stopping by with his camera. Still running tests and waiting on information. Your support means the world!

From Chris:

I wanted to give you an update. Today was a good day for baby Lennon. The first little victory came in the form of urination early this morning, and now at night he's up to 2 lbs 4 ounces, which the night nurse is happy with. Another highlight of the day was daddy's first diaper change (don't worry, he went easy on me). Your support from near and far is deeply moving. We can't see around the corners of the road ahead, and we're taking one very small step at a time. Lennon is so perfect and precious, and I know mommy would agree. Continue to pray as he fights, and for the doctors and nurses who are providing the absolute best care. Love to you all.
