We rescued Meli and Tagger in Bulgaria.
Meli we saved from a life in darkness. We treated her eyes, gave her back her vision and today she is a healthy kitten. She is expected in Canada in a warm home and family.
Tagger's mom was scheduled for spaying, without anyone knowing she was pregnant. Tagger's life was saved when the vets cancelled the procedure. Tagger is traveling to the USA.
We have a rescue set to travel to the USA on November 12th. Our aim is to send Meli and Tagger at the same time because right now we have volunteers able to help along the way, meet them all upon arrival, and even fly Meli on to Ottawa. Finding volunteers is the hardest part of our work and sometimes animals wait for months and months because there is nobody to take them on the next leg of their journey.
Please send Meli and Tagger home on November 12th by donating for their journey.
The kitties cannot travel with a volunteer organisation like Pilots for Paws, because they do not serve transatlantic routes. They cannot just be loaded on a plane by arrangement with someone from the crew, because this is against airline regulations. They must fly with a volunteer or an animal logistics company and the cost of their trip from Bulgaria to the USA is $1700, which includes the agents fee, transport and health certificates, travel crates, two flights, an overnight stay in an animal lounge in Europe and others. We are planning for the kitties to fly with Bulgarian Animal Transport, an animal logistics company we have used many times and whom we trust implicitly with our precious cargo.
