The Story

Country Blues artist Paul Geremia suffered a stroke in June of 2014 and has since been engaged in the full time work of recovery.

Paul's been staying with Janet Isserlis, a friend in Providence, progressing slowly in recovering the bits and pieces of thought and memorythat the stroke rearranged.

Part of the day-to-day challenge of his recovery includes being sure that caregivers are available when Janet is at work.

Part of the ongoing challenge is meeting costs of caregiving, meds, supplies and the sorts of paraphernalia required to keep a body whole and well.

We're asking for your support as you're able - send messages, come see us, come to a benefit, or donate here.

Blink.

It's been just a bit past a year and a half since Paul's stroke, and a little over a year since you all have been part of this site.  Progress continues as ever to be uneven and irregular.  Friends close by and friends from all over have been in touch  - your messages mean much, bring light to us, shut out the isolation that inevitably comes along with changes such as these.

This site will still be online (readable/viewable) but becomes inactive in two days (although the paypal account remains intact).  I'm working on building a website to reconstruct the pages lovingly curated by Paul Toracinta, who built Paul’s discography and touring site, and facebook page.  The new site, http://paulgeremia.wordpress.com, is very much a work in progress.

We can be reached through [email protected] or [email protected]

Finally, and still, all our gratitude for the care and support you've sent.  All best hopes and wishes for the year and years ahead.

With much love and hope,

We're thankful for all you've done through this site, through calls and email and checking in.  Strokes, as we've learned, are squirrelly, temperamental, unpredictable. We carry on, day by day by day.

Hoping that all of you are well, that those who celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow are with people you love and that all of you know how much your support has meant to us.

Many thanks.

Following a brief hospital stay earlier this month, Paul's in a rehab site for a while, working on regaining balance and mobility.  Hoping to find a way to update the facebook page; for now, people are welcome to post comments here (for another 46 days) or there.

As ever, still and always, all thanks for your kindness and good thoughts and wishes.

thank you
