The Story

This year has been a year of tragedy, heartbreak, and loss for Lisa and Jeff Yeager. On March 13th, 2013 they lost their precious daughter, Nikki Yeager, in an automobile accident. Nikki was an outstanding student and a Major in the MCJROTC. Burying a child is the last thing any parent should have to do and the pain that comes with it is insurmountable.  The family has spent the last few months adjusting to life without Nikki and continuing to keep life as normal as possible for their 19 year old son Andrew. Picking up the pieces has not been easy.

As the months have passed and time has started to heal, the unthinkable happened. Their son, and last surviving child, Andrew was in a car accident on July 27th, 2013. Andrew was air lifted to the Med and remains there in critical condition. Andrew suffered a fractured skull, collapsed lung, damage to his carotid artery (which restricted blood flow to his brain), as well as extensive damage to his vertebrae/spinal cord with the most damage being at T6.

The Yeager family has endured more pain in the past 4 months than any family should ever have to endure. This page is being set up to keep family and friends updated on Andrews condition as well as to raise funds for the many medical bills that the family will face. Andrew has already had several surgeries and will require many more. He will also require long term rehab to learn to walk again!

Please keep the Yeager family in your daily prayers. The power of prayer is an AMAZING thing. All things are possible through God and we pray that Andrew is restored to his former self and that he has complete healing!!

A family member will post a daily (or as often as possible) update regarding Andrews condition!

With Love,
Andrews Family

Andrew said that he WOULD walk out of Shepards Clinic and he MEANT it!! if you dont believe in miracles, just look at the video i posted of Andrew WALKING!!!!  God is so good and faithful!!

Andrew is making huge strides but still has a lot of therapy to go! He is working hard and taking full advantage of all that the Shepards Clinic has to offer!! He will be discharged as an "inpatient" on October 18th because he has reached all of his inpatient goals. He will restart therapy as an outpatient on October 28th. Lisa, Jeff, and Andrew will travel back home to Mississippi during the week between the 18th and 28th. They are nervous and know it will be a challenge, but are also excited to be HOME!! Somewhere they havent been able to be since July!!

Lisa and Jeff are so proud of Andrew and all the hard work he is putting forth. They know it is by the grace of God that he has made it this far. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Your prayers have carried them through this entire journey and your donations have eased the burden of them not working and allowing them to be able to be with Andrew.

With Love,
Andrews Family
