It's been a while since our last update. Ryan is making steady progress!! He is currently on a theraputic break and is working hard at home. Ryan goes to the local gym (Asana) once or twice a week to climb and really loves it. He has gained a lot of his strength back.
Although he is still unable to walk without assistance, his balance and stamina are improving. He is still unable to speak but he is making progress in that area as well. Ryan is now using his vocalchords to make sounds (a huge improvement) and is learning to form simple words
The weather here is improving and Ryan is stoked to spend more time outside!
It was our hope to bring Ryan to Colorado Springs to attend his class' graduation next month. Unfortunately, that is looking less likely. However, Ryan's brother, Erik will be in attendance!
This has been quite the past 13 months to say the least!!! We thank you all again for your support of Ryan and our Family. Your contibrutins continue to help with Ryan's expenses. Thank you to those that have recently contributed and to those that have made the trip to Boise to visit Ryan!!
It looks like this page will go "inactive" in 15 days. Anyone wanting an update or to make a donation post April 31, can contact Marty (Ryan's Father) at email@example.com.
Have a great Spring, everone!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Just a quick update,
Ryan remains at St. Lukes Neuro Rehabilitation Hospital and continues to make progress!! He will be there for at least another week. The family thanks everyone for their past and recent donations. It is very helpful given these new hopitalization expenses!
The family has a request for anyone in the Boise are. Ryan says he's getting bored (and who could blame him?). So if you have a little spare time and can visit him he would really appreciate it!!
Thank you all!!
The Guerra Family
Ryan will be discharged from the Hospital to St. Lukes (formally Elks) Rehab hospital. We are not sure how long he'll be there but this is good news! Ryan is sontinuing to improve and is in good spirits.
Erik is busy with finals and looking forward to his winter break from school. Marty continues caring for his Father and will be having back surgery (again) on Dec. 15th. This will hopefully take care of the chronic pain he has been in for quite a while! He needs to get back to work and life. Vicky continues to manage Ryan's care and work.
Many thanks to those that were able visit during the holiday weekend!! It was great to see you and Ryan enjoyed your company. For those far away, we very much appreciate your thoughts and continued support!
We hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
Great news!! Ryan is making an awesome recovery. He is alert, talking, joking, etc.
Ryan did have to have a PEG tube inserted to assist him with nutrition. Other than that he is back on track.
Thank you to everyone that sent their wishes for Ryan's rocovery!!
We apologize for the time lapse since our last update. Things have been up and down. Marty's Father has Alzeihmer's disease and after the passing of his mother, free time has been scarce.
Ryan had been making steady progress with therapy. However, over the past couple of weeks he had been losing weight and just not thriving. Today, Ryan was admitted into St. Lukes Hospital here in Boise. He is battling pneumonia and renal failure. He is currently listed in "serious "condition and will be there until at least through the end of the week.
During this holiday time, we are reminded of the many people who supported Ryan and our familiy this year. We could not have made it through with out you all. We hope you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving spending time enjoying your loved-ones and friends. You will be with us in spirit as we gather this Thursday!
Thank you for your contued support!
