The Story

Please join us in supporting the Terry Family!

On January 25th, sweet Kycie started complaining of a headache. On Monday she said her tummy hurt and a little later she threw up. Her mom and dad figured she was coming down with the flu. She slept all day Monday. She was giving her sprite and water to help her tummy. She did not want any food. Tuesday there was no change, and her brothers started to complain of stomach aches and sore throats. Jamie took Daxton and Kycie to the doctor on Wednesday. They were given antibiotics for strep throat. By Thursday night, she was worse. On friday they went to the doctor and went to the ER at 1:00pm. By 5:00pm she was life flighted to Primary Children's Hospital with blood sugar of 1148. Her parents had no idea that sweet little Kycie had diabetes!

Enroute to the hospital she had a seizure and another one right when they got to the hospital. She has been unresponsive ever since. At this point her blood sugars are under control. After reviewing her MRI the doctors said that she has extensive damage to the brain. The brain had herniated into the brain stem. They said if she survives to prepare themselves for her to be severely handicapped. They will do another MRI on Tuesday and at that point with decide if they should consider taking her off the breathing machines.

The family is hoping for a miracle and knows that this little girl's life is in God's hands right now. You can show your support to the Terry family by keeping them in your prayers and donating to help with any financial expenses that they have. Let's join together to support this wonderful family! We love you Kycie! #kissesforkycie

*** We have no idea right now what financial needs the Terry's will be facing. If there is money left over from medical bills and expenses, Josh and Jamie will donate it to charity. Thanks for your support!

From Jamie:

Nothing or no one can ever prepare you for a moment like today. Telling these sweet boys their sister went to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus was one of the harder moments. They are such good boys. They have been through a lot these past 7 months too. They love her with all they have got and they have been so so sweet and loving to her. I don't think they completely understand what has happened. Especially the younger ones. But I know Kycie has been with all of us today and I know she will continue to always be with us. She's our guardian angel. She's so special and I love that she is happy and free and dancing in heaven!! I know she had everything planned out and she knew exactly how it would happen. As hard as it was to say goodbye to her, the spirit was incredible and we were at such a peace. I know the days ahead will be hard and long but my heart is full of love and relief knowing she is smiling again!! She taught us all so much. And I think she will continue to teach us all. I'm so thankful for eternal families and I'm so thankful I will get to be with her again someday. I can't wait for her to run into my arms and for her to tell me she loves me "mostest infinity!" I love you beyond words baby girl. My love has grown beyond measure these past few months. How lucky I am that I got to spend them with you. Go with God and live and watch over us always. Love you mostest infinity Kycie Jai!!! @jjterry77 #kisses4kycie

From Josh:

Around 4:30 this morning Kycie Jai peacefully passed away in her fathers arms and with her mother by her side. We are heart broken but thankful for the Plan of Salvation and the atonement of Jesus Christ. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and this time. #kissesforkycie

From Josh: July 8

Kycie was discharged sooner than expected and is now comfortably back in her home. She had another rough night last night, with a few more episodes of what appeared to be delirium. So I was happy to bring her home and get her back into her groove. Had a good five hour conversation with Jamie on the way home. We don't get many of those anymore. We talked about the past week and how fast things went from bad to worse. We are learning that Kycie doesn't give too much of a warning. We both made the trip to Salt Lake last week knowing there was a real possibility that Kycie would not make it. She showed amazing strength and determination. But more than anything, she showed me that she is not done fighting this fight. #kissesforkycie #homeagainhomeagain
