The Story

Hello Friends,

So much affection to you. As many buddies have heard:

Kathleen and two friends were mugged in the Mission on May 3rd. Kathleen was hit, her jaw was fractured in two places and her sinus fractured in one. She's currently recovering from a surgery that mended the bones with two metal plates.

Though KK continues to be hilarious and brilliant, she is negotiating ongoing medical care. With one dramatic reconstructive surgery completed, another is scheduled to reset the metal plates to be more in line with her pre-assault facial structure. As with the first surgery, her jaw will be wired shut for a month as she heals.

Please do share this fundraiser, and if you are in Portland, come and join us for a benefit show on December 3rd at Holocene.

Dear Friends,

If you are in Portland, please join us on December 3rd for a benefit at Holocene:

dance performance by ALLIE HANKINS
and hosted by Sarah Johnson and Alicia McDaid

@ Holocene
$8-$15 suggested donation

Kathleen Keogh, a cherished member of Portland's creative dance and music communities, moved to the bay area to get a graduate degree in somatic psychology. In May she was attacked by a mugger in the mission and her jaw and sinus were fractured. She has undergone surgery and has been healing, but this occurrence has temporarily put the breaks on school as well as being a massive personal and economic drag. This show is meant not only as a benefit for Kathleen, but also a homecoming and celebration for a very talented and tremendously loved Portland family member.

Performing at the show, Pictureplane (aka Travis Egedy), flies in from New York bringing us his own his highly regarded electronic punk/vocal club music. Miracles Club, Portland's world renown house music trio, plays their first post-baby concert in over a year. $kulls (featuring Kathleen Keogh), Portland's premier somatic psyche/future Americana dance squad, regroups for one night only. Choreographer and contemporary dancer Allie Hankins offers a special solo performance. DJ Beyondadoubt will be the musical glue that binds the evening's events as Sarah Johnson and Alicia McDaid play host. All in all, we promise an idiosyncratic, non-standard concert, with a healthy dose of dancing, laughter, and joyful awkwardness, in an effort to raise funds for the facial reconstruction of a victim of violent assault.
