The Story

K-9 Deputy Jason Denham was on duty with his K-9 partner "Sjors" when they were involved in a major vehicle accident.  Deputy Denham was life flighted from the scene to Houston's Memorial Hermann Hospital. Deputy Denham was in critical condition with severe injuries. Deputy Denham's K -9 partner was also injured in the vehicle accident and transported to a local veterinary Hospital.

Deputy Jason Denham has been employed with the Harris County Sheriff's Department for over 10 years. Deputy Denham has been partnered with his partner "Sjors" for over 2 years. Deputy Denham has been married for over 15 years and is the father of three daughters.  Deputy Denham is still on critical condition and is expected to make a complete recovery. Due to the extensive injuries sustained from the accident his injuries will require a long term recovery.

Due to Jason's insurance and workers compensation covering only a portion and not all of his expenses this donation site was created. This fund raiser will be used to help offset his medical expenses and assist his family during his recovery process. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Deputy Denham and his family are grateful for your support.

If you are not comfortable using you credit card you can donate via check. Any check donations you wish to send can be made out to Jason Denham. Check donations can be sent to Deputy Andrew C. Sustaita to our Sub-Station located at 6831 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379.

Fundraiser Updates

Monica asked me to post this update on behalf of her family:

"Let me start by just saying thank you to everyone who has been comforting and supporting my family for the past few weeks. Words could never express how grateful we are to each and every one of you. Jason is still in critical condition and is going through many procedures and surgeries to get him well again. Much of the details I am keeping to myself not only bc of my respect for Jason's privacy (bc if you know Jason at all you know he is a VERY private person) but for our girls as well. All of this has been very hard for them and although I know I can't shelter them from everything I am doing my best to give them information slowly so that this isn't anymore overwhelming than it already is. We are on a very long journey to getting Jason back to his normal crime fighting self. There will be more surgeries and many good and bad days. We are taking it one day at a time right now. Again, to the people who love and know us well, thank you VERY MUCH from the bottom of my heart. It really is true what people say about finding out who your real friends during times of tragedy. I love you all and so do our girls. "

I want to thank you as well for your continuous support and understanding. Please join us this Wednesday February 19, 2014, for a prayer vigil for Deputy Jason Denham and his family:
Location: Memorial Hermann Hospital Chapel.
Time: 6PM.
Please contact me if you have any questions.

Jason has been stable enough since yesterday. He is on his way to the operating room for a clean up surgery. Things are improving and we are hopeful that soon he will be stable enough for the big surgery. The fact that he can be moved to the OR today is great. Please say a prayer for this procedure to go well.

Jason's surgery went well and he's heading back to his room.

Jason had some ICP spikes last night but they think it was because of some mucus and possibly pain. It never stayed high so he's still off the sedatives. He's getting his trache and a feeding tube sometime today, which is another good thing.

If someone makes a negative post on the comments page please mark it as spam. I contacted the admin for Youcaring.com and they advised me they cant remove them due to the comments being a facebook thread. They stated flagging it as spam is the only option we have and facebook "should" remove them for us.

To all the great supporters I thank you for your love and support during these trying times. I ask you not make negative replys to these negative post to prevent further remarks from these individuals.

To Jason's family I am truly sorry for the added stress from those who are making these obscene and uncalled for remarks. I can say with confidence you have a lot of fellow brother and sisters who love Jason and we will be keeping him and your family in our prayers.
