My name is Justin Williams - cancer warrior...diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in 2008, I finished 9 months of chemo and limb salvage ...3 years of physical therapy and 4 years on crutches later I'm CANCER FREE but still unable to walk :(
I am preparing for the journey to being an amputee and need your help. I know the prosthetic itself will be very costly and much more so the ones for playing a sport. I just want to walk again, hold my own things while I walk, be independent again! I don't want any financial burden on my family, I see the struggle just in preparing for the surgery and the 40 days of being away from home...I asked my mom if I could ask friends and family to just give a dollar here or there to help me prepare for this journey and to save for my new prosthetic leg, I should be fitted for one by march of 2013 - I will be updating pictures throughout my journey - for once I am doing what I can before I see my mom struggling to find a way -
Am I scared? No! I'm ready, and I'm going to give it my all - so if you can donate great if you can't I still say "thank you" :)
* I am officially an amputee, my insurance will not cover the computerized knee that would give me a better functioning leg, so my journey to getting my C-Leg continues. Many amazing people are fundraising for me and I hope to have it eventually. For now, I have been fitted for a normal prothetic leg, I will not be able to walk freely but I am scheduled to go to MD Anderson July 15 to see if my bone is healed enough so that I can begin therapy and try to walk again. Thank you for your continued support.
