The Story

There are very few doctors who treat mold illness and the ones who do don't take insurance.  Laura is an LPN... but she has been too sick to work for many years. She has no money.  She needs your help to get well.

Whatever we money raise here will go toward getting her to a medical facility that can help her, testing, supplements, treatment, temporary housing and God willing... a new permanent home.

I have watched Laura's health deteriorate for many years.  It was because my own son and my family got sick from toxic mold in our house that I asked Laura if I could test her house to see if toxic mold could be causing her illness.

The mold test on her house came back very high in some of the most toxic molds that produce mycotoxins.  Some of the same toxic molds that had made my family sick.

Mold illness is largely misunderstood and underestimated by doctors and the majority of the population.  Laura has been to dozens of doctors and has been unable to get properly treated.

Just moving out of the house is not enough.  She needs a doctor to help guide her so that she can detox safely without shutting down her organs.  Her health is in a very fragile state.

Laura has been so sick for so many years that she does not have any source of income.  She has been to dozens of doctors who have prescribed countless drugs from anti-depressants to steroids.  Her most recent hospitalization and diagnosis was due to pancreatitis.

Laura called me Sunday, January 5th to tell me the skin was peeling off her face in sheets.  She is in constant pain and she is desperate for medical intervention.

I have contacted several doctors who specialize in environmental medicine and mold illness.  Unfortunately none of them take insurance.

Travel expenses, housing, medical treatment, follow up treatment and a safe place to live for Laura and her son will likely cost far more than $10,000 so don't stop giving.  I promise, your generosity will go toward giving Laura and her son Freddie a better life.

They are homeless now and we have to think about where they will live once they are well.  They certainly cannot go back to the home that made them sick.

Mold illness is expensive... it is yet unrecognized by conventional medicine.  This fundraiser will be a start for Laura to begin the road to healing. Right now, with the pancreatitis diagnosis, she is likely in stage 3 mycotoxicosis... the organs start shutting down.

Immediate needs are emergency treatment with an environmental specialist who knows how to treat mold illness. It may take years of follow up treatment to get her health back completely.  She has been getting sick for many years. Every person is different.  Let's pray Laura bounces back quickly.  The reality is, it may take years to recover.

There are years of supplements ahead, a need for ongoing infrared sauna treatments, air purifiers, clean organic food and whatever ongoing treatment the doctor recommends.

If you have any questions about the symptoms mold can cause, please visit my website, A Good Health Advocate or Mold Support for more information.

I am currently (Thursday, January 9th) emailing back and forth with Benita Zahn about her doing a story on Mold featuring what is happening to Laura and Freddie and mentioning this fundraiser on the air.

The real news that needs to get out there is that if anyone is sick, there is a home mold test that can be done to see if toxic mold is contributing or causing to your illness.  It's called the ERMI Environmental Relative Moldiness Index and it is available at EMSL Labs or Mycometrics.

Even if you cannot see or smell mold, if someone is sick, it is worth it to do the test.  Mold can be hidden in walls, under floors or in the basement and it can cause serious health problems.

We are having a Spaghetti Dinner & basket party at the Whitehall Elks on February 4th from 4:00-6:30.  I hope you can join us there.  We still need volunteers to help with that event on the 3rd and the 4th.

If you have ideas for more fundraising efforts... please share.  We are open to suggestions.

You can contact me (Heather Plude) through this fundraiser.

My family got very sick from toxic mold... and we all got well.  I want to see the same happen again!  Let's help Laura and Freddie get their health back!!!

Yesterday Laura and I traveled 3 hours to see a specialist in chronic illness in Massachusetts. It was a scheduled appointment, they moved from February 5th to January 22nd because she is so sick.

She has been having sharp, stabbing pain in the lower abdomen on the right side and was asking to go to a hospital all the way down. We have been to so many hospitals and doctors... and I was insistant we make it to the specialist in chronic illness.

The appointment itself took about 3 hours. The doctor asked a lot of questions, went over Laura's history with genuine care and concern.  It was refreshing.

They did some visual accuity testing in the office, recommended some supplements for pain and sleeping, and wrote scripts for more testing, checking for mold and biotoxins as well as heavy metals like mercury and lead.

The doctor wanted her to have cat scan for acute pain in lower abdomen before proceeding with any further testing. Dartmouth-Hitchcock was on the way home and I thought they might be able to shed some light on the cause of her pain.

We got to the ER around 6pm last night, they did the cat scan, did not find anything and released her. At least we know it's not appendicitis or pancreatitis.

She has the orders for more blood and urine tests and an appointment back with the clinic in Massachusetts in 6 weeks.  She will also be starting B-12 self injections and several other supplements on the doctors orders.

Overall, I was very pleased with the commitment this doctor has to helping Laura to heal.  I am convinced they will get to the root of the health challenges Laura is facing and help her to heal and get back to living life!

On another note, I found a house that Laura and Freddie can live in while they heal and my husband (Mike) and I put a downpayment on it.  I am working on getting it financed and finishing it... any ideas for creative financing are appreciated (people who want to donate or invest money with a ?% return for 3-6 months)

I will be putting up a second fundraising page for getting this house so Laura and Freddie have a safe home where they can get their health back.

We didn't go to the appointment today because Laura is really not feeling good. Rescheduled for Tuesday, January 21st.

Lots of pain, fever, nausea, stabbing pain in lower abdomen area and her left leg is numb.

Prayers are needed.

Thank you.

It's been a while since I posted an update on Laura. She is in pain and still in need of a doctor... and I have been calling doctors offices looking for a doctor that can see Laura and is going to treat her with the respect she deserves.

I've got her taking some of the natural things we took when we got out of the mold... like LiverLife by BioRay Natural Products and we talked about the Candida diet today.  No bread, no sugar. All natural.  There are a lot of foods that tend to be moldy, too.   Gotta stay away from that.

For those of you who don't understand why we can't go to any doctor, we have tried many doctors and this is the typical result: Video: Mold Causes MUCH More than Allergies and Asthma

I have been interviewing medical centers, talking to nurses who work there and patients who have gone to these centers.  I am gathering information on their methods of treating, whether their staff is friendly, and trying to decide the best place for Laura to go.

It has to be someone that believes in Mold Illness and heavy metal toxicity  Since they are both VERY controversial subjects... that is a tall order. I am also concerned with getting Laura in in a timely matter.  Some of these places can't see her until March.

I am so grateful to the people who have suggested doctors and we took every one into consideration and nothing is set in stone.  I am also grateful for the people I reached out to and asked them to look at the doctors that I was considering for Laura. Thanks for taking the time to do that for me.

I am worried about Laura's immediate health if she doesn't get in to see a doctor soon.  I found a medical center in Western Massachusetts where they  specialize in chronic illness, mold toxicity and heavy metal poisoning.  Laura has an appointment January 28th at North Hampton Wellness

I am taking Laura for a preliminary appointment to seethe holistic dentist that helped me... Dr. Vigs in Kingston, NY. Say prayers for a safe trip, a pain free day with enough energy for Laura and a low estimate for the work that needs to be done in her mouth.

He was very reasonable when I had 16 amalgams removed in 2011.  I found him on IAOMT website

For anyone who wants to learn more about why we are concerned with amalgams when mold was making Laura sick... many doctors believe people could not get sick from mold if it weren't for the metals.  Here are some videos that expain The Facts On Toxicity

Cullen and I both got well from mold and I think that is because we chelated metals for four months before we found out that we had toxic mold in our house.  I had very high mercury because of my amalgams and so did he.  Mercury toxicity is sometimes passed on to our children... sad huh?

Thank you all for your donations.  Without them, Laura would have no way to get the treatment she so desperately needs.  I can't tell you how grateful I am for helping Laura!

Someone said to me the other day that Laura does not look like the same person... and no, right now, she doesn't.  She can get well.  And with your help, she will get well.

Thank you again.
