Hello to Diane Goethals’ supporters!
Thanks for your generous donations and willingness to volunteer for the 24 hour fundraiser event for Diane. The momentum and volume of these offers has been amazing and shows what a great person she is.
This event on August 10 / 11 (4pm to 4pm) at Rochester High School is a “grass roots” campaign, and we think we have a great idea, but it’s moving so fast, our planning and communication have not been able to keep up. The internet tools we picked have been great for gathering donations and getting the word out, but not so hot at registering and figuring who belongs where.
For reference, here is our key link:

With a week to go, it’s time to sort out time slots and how to use your offers to participate. Here’s advice on what to do next
Runners / Walkers
Sign up in the time slot you would like to participate by entering your name at this Google Doc link http://tinyurl.com/q739ebaReturn to the fundraising site during the week for any updates and consider making a donation. If you can’t contribute, throw on a pink shirt and come join us.
Note the time slot identified for you below by age group or team captain. Add/confirm your participation by entering your name and a t-shirt size (S/M/L/XL) at this Google Doc link http://tinyurl.com/l8tb78k There is a spreadsheet “tab” for each age/organization with team managers and key contacts noted . If you are a team captain or manager, please enter the participants coming since they may not get this email. This is NOT just for travel players. Recreational players should sign in under their age group. Return to the fundraising site during the week for any information updates and consider making a donation.
Tammy Batagglia is taking help in concessions, and the Signup Genius link is http://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0444ADAA23A57-concession
Also, volunteers are needed to take on-site donations, pass out t-shirts, match participants to their group and generally keep the event “manned” over 24 hours. Please respond to Chris Dubeck what three hour time block you could cover ([email protected]).
We’re making an effort to get t-shirt sizes right based on what you requested and what ages are participating. However, there will be some mismatches as we estimated sizes needed based on input from only 200 of the 800 expected as the shirts go to printing. Thanks for your understanding.
If someone can’t afford a donation…. Please come out anyway! Walk, run, jump into one of the friendly soccer games – especially that 4 am to 9 am Sunday block. Volunteer for an hour or lead one of the pop up events that may happen (e.g,. dunk tank, signature board, etc.).
See you on the field,
