She was 9 years old when she passed away.
On March 30, 2013, Chloe died from complications relating to a Chordoma brain tumor - a very rare, atypical tumor characteristically only found in adult males.
This fundraiser is dedicated to the memory of Chloe Amanda Vojtik in efforts to help relieve the financial obligations her family has incurred for her care and her death.
She was diagnosed on September 7, 2011. In the short time before her death she suffered from chronic pain, braved countless medical procedures, received 40 adult level radiation treatments, underwent 21 surgeries, a week of intense chemotherapy, 30 MRIs, 2 spinal infections, lost her sight, lost movement on both sides of her body, was arrested and resuscitated twice, and spent the last 7 weeks of her life in the hospital after being admitted to the emergency room on her 9th birthday from a spinal fluid leak that caused intense pain in her head.
She was extremely brave and overcame obstacles that no one should ever have to deal with. But in the end, the medical treatments failed and the tumor took her life. Like any parents would, they made sure Chloe received the best possible care – care which has totaled over three million dollars in medical bills. However even with insurance, the out of pocket expenses have been overwhelming.
