The Story

We are the moms from Suzanne's PEPs group in Seattle. We set up this page to create a place for family and friends to support Steve and Suzanne. Please leave them a message letting them know you are thinking about them.

We'd also love to support them tangibly by raising money to help them during this difficult time. Steve's doctors are currently estimating he'll be in and out of the hospital for about six months. Like so many of us, Steve and Suzanne have no family in town and two small children to care for. Even with insurance, medical care and all the incidentals are expensive. Everything from additional child care to paying for parking every day adds up.

Suzanne is doing an amazing job caring for their two boys and for Steve during this difficult time. Let's help care for them too by sending words of support and giving any amount, big or small. Consider paying for a month's worth of childcare or for a day's worth of parking. Every little bit helps!

Many thanks for your support!

I am so pleased to let you all know that Steve got the all clear and is now Cancer FREE!!!
We couldn't be happier and more relieved that this is all coming to an end and we can look ahead to a healthy future as a family. He still has to have his IV port surgically removed and routine blood check ups but slowly life will get back to normal.
This fundraiser has definatley helped lessen the burden of childcare, parking fees and paying our medical bills while Steve hasn't been able to work and I can't thank you all enough for your help and support. The kindness we have received from our family, friends and their families has been overwhleming and it certainly has got me through many evenings alone reading all the supportive messages. Even now writing this I'm welling up as it's been such an emotional rollercoaster.

Thank you all so, so much.

Yesterday was super scary, Steve ended up on ICU with sepsis. They managed to stablise him and get it under control and he's back on his usual ward tonight after blood and platelet transfusions. It all happened so fast, one minute he's playing with the kids and eating lunch the next his temperatures soaring and he's shaking uncontrollably, thank god I was with him.
Again my amazing friends stepped up to help look after the children so i could be with him. Nicole, Gen you are truly awesome.

So after a false start last week Steves finally started his final Chemo today.
Here's hoping it's the easiest yet with no infections, can't wait to get our lives back to normal, whatever normal might be after all this.
