The Story

On January 21, 2015 Bill was working underneath his truck at home when it rolled back on him, pinning him on the concrete floor for three hours until his son Dane finally found him.

He was airlifted to a Duluth hospital.  He sustain damage to his lungs, kidneys and has swelling around the spinal cord and hips, but he has feeling in his legs.

The biggest obstical is that his muscles are breaking down and secreting a protien that his kidney's cannot fight.  He has started dialysis to give his kidney's a break so they can hopefully start healing.

Bill is literally fighing for his life right now.

Erin has been at his side the entire time being his advocate when he can't speak.

Because of this accident, and the distance from their home, Erin has to stay in a hotel close to the hospital. It will be a few more weeks that Bill is in the hospital. He may then go to rehab to help regain his strength.

They also run a resort called Geiger's Trails End and they are not able to have guests at the resort because they are not there.

This on-line fundraiser is to help offset some of the costs that they are going to encounter on this long journey to healing.

Bill and Erin are past members of the Big Lake Area Jaycees and Erin was also a Jaycee member in Illinois. They are also involved with Ducks Unlimited and very supportive in their community!

They are both very giving people and are in need of our help, support and prayers.

Please help support this fundraiser so Bill can recover and not worry about where the money will come from.

Thank you!

To all,

We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU very much to everyone that has helped with this fundraiser, said prayers, sent guiding light, or sent their love and support. We will be closing this fundraiser in 3 days.

Bill has made an unheard of recovery.  We truly believe it is because all of you that he has made it this far this quick.  God heard all our prayers!

We have had an outpouring of support and people wanting to come help with our Spring Cleaning at the Resort.  Since Bill isn't at 100% his stamina has been the last to come back.  Because of this, we have had to make a schedule to fit everyone in.  We are extremely greatful for all the help.  If you are interested in helping, please contact us as soon as possible.

There are a few duties that require specialty skills that we would appreciate help in.  These include:
Ceramic Tile Work
Carpentry Work
Exterior Painting
Interior Painting

among other skills....Thank you in advance!  God is good in all he does!

Two months ago, yesterday, Bill was pinned under the truck fighting for his life.

Today, because of the support, prayers, guiding light, good energies and love, he is almost completely healed. He still has nerve damage and pain to deal with, but his limp is only noticeable when he has overdone the activities. He is working on building his stamina.

Doctors can't believe how fast he recovered and are calling him a miracle. It's because of all of you that this has been possible!

Thank you!

Yesterday was a milestone day. Bill had an MRI scheduled to re-evaluate the codition of his spine. Those of you who know Bill well, knows that he, prior to the accident, was ok with tight spaces. Now, he is EXTREMELY claustrophobic, with good reason.

However, returning to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth allowed him to feel safe. The people there are exceptional people and took very good care of him. After a cocktail of versed and fentanyl, he was off to lala land and feeling pretty good.

The MRI was read right away By his neurosurgeon. There are 2 bulging discs and a spot where there is extra spinal fluid.

The doctor says this is evidence of the crushing injury that will take a long time to recover. He continues to make strides in his progress! A dose pack of steroids and a new nerve pain med will hopefully help speed along the recovery.

Blessings to everyone!
