Since our last update many things have occurred. Armani now has trouble breathing and digesting food. To solve both of these problems he will have a couple of surgeries within the next month. Armani has also received his AFO's one step closer to standing and walking!!!!
This week started off as a very trying one..... Waiting on MRI results currently
Today baby Armani had his.9th surgical procedure. Armani has never been able to fully look outwards nor control the movements of his eyes. Today Dr. Lambert of Emory eye center loosened the muscles of both eyes with hopes that it corrects Armani's eyes and vision. Due to the location of the tumors this surgery isn't 100% guaranteed to work or it could possibly revert back the same way however we have faith that all will be well. Thanks for loving us - Armani's mommy -
Since Armani's last update several things have occurred. In the month of October Armani had a feeding tube(g-tube) placed. This procedure was done after a swallow study showed that Armani aspirated on anything that went into his mouth and flowed directly into his lungs. In the month of November Armani has his first visit with his neurologist, it was there I learned that Armani had another condition, Cerebral palsy, in the same visit I also learned that his tumor had grown and due to this he no longer had a cerebellum in his brain which would make swallowing, talking, and walking a challenge for Armani. Today baby Armani had his 9 surgical procedure. Armani has able to look outwards since
As we enter the month of September we've gotten some not so great news. With more surgical procedures and test to be performed this month Armani will have a minor setback. We thank each and everyone of you for your love and support as we continue to fight our amazing journey.
This week has been a rough but great week. As new issues begin to develope with Armani he hasn't been himself. Another MRI and EEG will be done on tomorrow 8-13-2014. Praying for a great outcome with positive results.
Tomorrow August 6, 2014 Armani J. Carter will be 7 months!!!!!!! At just 4 months Armani's life took a turn for the worst and now he's fighting to make it the best. Everyday he learns something new and teaches us new things. He went from be not able to move without help to pushing himself to the limit to learn to sit up, crawl, and drink again. Armani is simply Amazing and truly a blessing. We have a long road to travel because his has battle has not been won. We truly thank each an everyone of you all for your love and support.
Armani has his 1st visit with the ophthalmologist on tomorrow... Will keep you all posted on how this visit goes.
What is an Ophthalmologist? An ophthalmologist is a physician who is specially trained to diagnose and treat disorders of the eyes and vision. These doctors are experts on the complicated anatomy of the eye and are trained to treat eye diseases through both medical and surgical methods.
