The Story

Jackie, a mother, wife, daughter, sister and nurse is in need of help. March 28, 2013 Jackie was having unexplained pain in her head. Her husband Tim called 911 and she was rushed to the hospital. Jackie had a ruptured aneurysm and since has been in ICU. The medical bills will grow as Tim and two little girls wait for Jackie to speak again.

Jackie is speaking and also walking slowly. Each day brings Jackie closer to being home.

As of 5/24/13 Jackie is home with her family. Thank you everyone that has been there to support the family.

Spent some time today at the rehabilitation hospital with Jackie and I cannot believe her progress. We did occupational therapy together and then ate lunch in her room. I am just dumbfounded at how far she has come in less than a month. She is stronger than I thought and even has the classic spunk we all love and hate !!! We love you Jack !!!   -Tim

Jackie is all moved into the rehabilitation clinic and will be there for up to 30 days for inpatient PT, OT, and speech therapy.  The girls and I hung out with her this afternoon and I brought her a TON of clothes ... I have no doubts that she will be walking through our front door and telling me to do something around the house before the end of month !!!!  I am one lucky S.O.B. !!!-Tim

Jackie is being moved today to the rehab center down the street from the house and she will start her intensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy from up to one month. She will then come home and do outpatient care and be living back at the castle with us !!! She is truly being blessed and her situation is absolutely a miracle - even the doctors and nurses have to agree with the fact that we witnessed a muscle over the past three weeks. Thank you so much everyone for your thoughts and prayers ... They are working !!!   -Tim

So the meeting today with the girls and Jackie for the first time since the accident went better than a storybook would have had it play out. Jackie embraced Aubrey in her arms and kept asking for kisses and telling her she missed her ... She held Madison with her in her bed and continued to embrace her as well while mouthing "my baby" ... her facial expressions, purposeful gestures, and mouthed words showed us and the majority of the staff on her unit that she is progressing extremely well and remembers the family. She is an anomaly at the hospital and is proof that miracles do happen ... Thank you again everyone for all your support and prayers ... they are being answered !!    -Tim

So Jackie had been making miraculous progress ... She is able to mouth words to us now and told me today, "I love you" "Aubrey" (when she saw a video of her), and "Madison" (when she saw a video of her) ... Her physicians are blown away and we are not only joyous but impressed by how hard she has fought these past there weeks .... Keep up the great job Jackie !!!   -Tim

Hung out with both my beautiful sisters tonight at the hospital. Jackie Smith Petersstuck out her tongue when asked by the nurse, moved her head back and forth, and the best part was when she smiled at me!! She's so amazing... Everyday she makes more progress and gets stronger. The Smith sisters together for a night in!    -Jessica
