Cole has been doing great and has been hard at work getting his new business up and running. As the medical bills keep coming in, it gets harder and harder for Cole and his wife Alexa to keep up. Thank you for all of you that have supported them in the past and thank you to those of you who continue to support them through all of this. 2015 is going to be a great, HEALTHY year for the Lockwood family.
Hello everyone! First of all I would just like to thank everyone who has donated, prayed for us and sent us positive vibes. It means so much to Alexa and I. I also want to thank the Huguet family for all of their support. They have done so much for me, it is unbelievable and I am forever thankful. I just wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know that I will be flying down to Salt Lake City this Sunday the 12th and will be having a major surgery called an RPLND on the 15th to remove the tumor in my abdomen. The surgery will be done at the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute. I will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks. This is a very invasive surgery and will be a while before I'm back to normal but it is one step closer to becoming cancer free. After the surgery I will finish up with a couple more rounds of chemotherapy just to make sure all of the cancer is gone and after that I will hopefully be CANCER FREE!!! Thank you again to everyone for all that you have done, we are so very thankful.
Update from Alexa:
"Hi everyone! Your prayers and support definitely got us through this past weekend (5/17). Cole finished his 5th straight day of chemo Friday and was given extra meds so he would be able to make it to my graduation.
Saturday night he woke up with chills, a high fever, and a bad headache. I took him to the ER, he was hospitalized, and we later found out that he had bacteria in his blood from his infected port. They took his port out and he was in the hospital on some potent antibiotics.
Cole is now home and is feeling much better! He is currently getting a picc line in so he can have chemo next week, then he may get a new port once his infection is completely clear to finish chemo.
Your kind words, support at the fundraisers, and prayers keep us going! Thank you to everyone who has ordered Montana Strong tshirts! Gosh it really takes the love of the whole community to get through the tough times and we only hope we can someday pay it forward!
We love you, Montana!"
It is definitely time for an update! Cole has now been through 8 chemo treatments and is losing his hair. However, he is strong as ever and the doctors believe that the chemo has started to shrink the tumors.
The love and support Cole and Alexa have received has been incredible. I increased the goal on this site as Cole found out that his insurance only covers a portion of the chemo. As many of you may know Chemotherapy is extremely expensive! Thank you all for you donations, love and support. It all has had such a indescribable impact.
There has now been a website setup where you can purchase t shirts with the proceeds all going to Cole, see following link:
Also, on Tuesday May 13th from 4-8pm Bayern Brewery will be donating the proceeds of each beer to Cole's Benefit Account. As will Mighty Mo in Great Falls on May 19th from 5-8pm.
Thank you all so much!
Update from Alexa:
"Cole and I met with the oncologist today. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer and has the large tumor in is abdomen which also goes into his chest. We also found out that he has a blood clot in his leg and one in his lung. He will get a port put in Tuesday and start aggressive chemo the following Monday.
Once again, we thank you for your prayers, love, and support Cole is so strong."
There is now a bank account setup -Cole Lockwood Benefit Account- at Gateway Community Federal Credit Union in Missoula. You can make donations to that account in any form (besides over the phone) and at any of their locations. Thank you all so much!
Thank you messages from Cole and Alexa:
"I cannot possibly thank you all enough for all the support, love, prayers, kind thoughts, and amazing words of encouragement. This is a bit of a bump in the road for us, but nothing we can't handle with the help of God. Everyone, everywhere, you're amazing. I love you all. I mean it." - Cole
