The Story

Mary Lindsey was diagnosed with Lyme Disease last August, after being very sick for several months. She has seen over 30 Doctors in the past year. She started treatment to fight this disease in October. Her health has rapidly declined over the past year. Mary Lindsey is currently in a wheelchair, her speech is slurred, and she has lost over 20lbs, all because of a tick. This is a teenager that was very active as a dancer and her local theater group in Goldsboro. Mary Lindsey is currently undergoing treatment in Florida for the next few months. Her treatment cost over $3000 a week and is not covered by insurance. Let's help Mary Lindsey and her family so that she can receive the proper medical treatment and return to a normal life again.

Week #20 Update: This week has been a good week. My tests are continuing to improve. They are not showing any infection at this point—just mold, parasites, and petro toxins. Monday I actually did the bike at the gym for 10 min. I overdid it, but I am very proud that I was able to do it. I have not been able to do any exercise in a VERY long time. My mom flew in Wednesday night and stayed until this morning. I am so thankful she was able to come and give me some much-needed mommy time. She always knows how to brighten my day. My friend who also has Lyme disease came to visit me Friday morning while I was in treatment. It was so sweet of her to drive 3 hours to see me. This weekend I had the energy and brain power to organize my many supplements and meds which is so encouraging. I also walked a lap around the pond at our apartment complex tonight. It was definitely hard, but the accomplishment was worth it. Thank you all for the love and support. Please continue to pray. I hope this week is even better than the last!

Week #19 Update: This past week has not been the best. My stomach has been burning and in pain. I have also been very nauseous and fatigued. This is due to black mold toxins being released from my biofilm. Mold is a very serious thing. Since I have been in treatment for so long and am getting toxins out of me, I am able to tell when I am in a moldy place. For example, during week #18 I went to the orthodontist to get my retainer fixed. I was in there for only 30 minutes and became so sick afterwards. Everything was spinning, my head was in lots of pain, and I couldn’t think straight. I went back to the clinic and got detoxed. It helped, but the next day it was still not out of my system. I had a very rough day, and I don’t remember what really happened (which is a good thing). Tomorrow starts week #20, and I am so ready to get all of this junk out of me. Please keep all of the patients and staff in your prayers. My heart goes out to everyone back in NC. I hope that everyone is safe and recovers from the aftermath of the hurricane quickly. I have fundraisers coming up this month. Sunday, October 16—Spaghetti Lunch @ First Baptist Church of Goldsboro. Sunday, October 30—Benefit and Lyme Awareness Show @ Garris Chapel. December 15--Drawing for $500 ($5 tickets available at Sportman’s World).

Week #16 Update: Wow, 4 months. That is crazy. Week #15 was pretty good. I was seeing improvement. However, towards the end of week #15 I started vitamin C ivs. The vitamin C started to break through biofilm, which released more infection. This is good because the infection is coming out so it can be killed, but it is taking a toll on me. A lot of my symptoms have started getting worse again. I have been having at least one seizure episode a day and my walking is on and off. It is very hard, but I am thankful for the chance to get rid of all of this stuff. My parents drove all the way to see me and spent Friday and Saturday with me. I have loved spending time with them. I am blessed to have the family that I do. I am so thankful for the continuous love and support. Please continue to pray for me and the other patients, the staff, and those who are going through similar situations and need treatment.
