The Story

Jim and Marg Dale lost their home, all of their possessions, and one of their beloved dogs when a fire swept their property.

In the afternoon hours of Nov 28, 2017, disaster struck my In-Law's home while they were at work. The cause of the fire is believed to have originated from a power strip in the detached garage. Marg and Jim are okay, and two of their three dogs we recovered. Unfortunately one of their dogs perished in the fire.

Thankfully another family member lives close by and has taken them in for now. But they will desperately need help. Please, if you can find it in your heart to give what you can to this couple, it will help them get back on their feet, and slowly get back to their lives. It will be greatly appreciated.

Note from the Organizer - Michelle Dale (Daughter-in-Law)

Please consider either donating, every penny donated will go directly to them (minus any transaction fees charged through YouCaring's transaction service provider). I’m certain they will be thankful for everything they may receive, and are blessed that anyone is willing to give! Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story.

Christina Dale is also Daughter-in-Law to Marg and Jim, and lives in Albion, NY.  Through her FB, she is currently working on organizing/collecting all physical donations! Please contact her directly for this effort @ https://www.facebook.com/CDale87

Fundraiser Updates

Thank you all for your patience during this difficult time. Grandpa's (Marg's Father) death not a week after their devastating house fire really added heavy stress to our family. Grandpa's funeral was beautiful, and may he rest in peace; he will be greatly missed.

Update on Marg & Jim's progress: so many kind and generous folks have given donations, funding, and/or their precious time to help with the disaster relief. The lot was cleared off over the course of a few weeks, and a new house has been secured for the lot. We are grateful to their bank that their mortgage was approved!

Christina and other friends and family worked their magic with physical donation efforts, and secured numerous types of items including but not limited to: bedding, furniture, clothing, kitchen items, gift cards, electronics, etc (both old and new). We are eternally grateful to all of the donors (including those of time and manual labor)!

This fundraiser will be closed at the end of January, to tie up our funding efforts. Jim & Marge have a very long way to go still in rebuilding their lives, and it will take many years before they have replaced the needs and comforts of their former home and belongings.

We are so thankful that people are continuing to share this fundraiser, and ask that you continue to do so until the end of January. Thank you all for your support!

Just left the wreckage. It’s so hard to believe there was a house here.

Please continue to share, and thank you to everyone for your support.

Update: 12/3/17
It has been a hard week for The Dale Family. Just when we started to gain traction in the right direction, tragedy has struck again. Marge Dale lost her father today, Chuck Newbould. His passing is believed to have been due to a heart attack this morning. Grandpa, you will be missed immensely.

We want to thank everyone who has assisted our family in any way over the past week. Many items, and donations were collected, including: food, clothing, furniture, bed sheet sets, monetary donations, and gift cards. Runnings Stores in Brockport, NY donated a $100 gift card to Jim Dale to replace his tool set, and other items he may need. The outpouring of helping hands continues to lift us up when we need it most.

Cleanup began at the end of the week, though there was not much left to salvage, many family and friends in the area have been very hands on; thank you so much, we are so very grateful. I will do my best to keep the updates coming during this difficult week. Please keep us in your thoughts.
