Every year, the Maine Clammers Association's Santa Fund provides needed holiday cheer to economically disadvantaged Mainers. Our clammer elves deliver warm clothing, toys, groceries, and home oil heat to children, elders, and families in communities up and down the Maine coast.
The people we help are those that typically slip through the cracks of more mainstream Christmas charity drives. The MCA is able to identify and reach these families through our extensive grass-roots network of contacts throughout Maine's coastal communities. We plan to make deliveries to people in Lubec, Machias, Deer Isle, Waldoboro, Harpswell, Brunswick, and Freeport.
But we can't do it without your help! Please donate to the Maine Clammers Association's Santa Fund.
We are in extra need of help this year because we were not able to hold our traditional Santa Fund fundraiser, the Santa Supper, due to the Freeport Shellfish Commission's decision to not award conservation points to clammers for digging and donating clams to serve at the Santa Supper and the closure of our local clam wholesaler S&S Seafood. Despite the setback, we are continuing to raise money for disadvantaged Mainers this holiday season. Please consider donating to the MCA Santa Fund!
