Lu Yi has trained some of the best circus performers in the world; now he needs our help.
Lu Yi has Parkinson's disease, a cruel irony for a man who's dedicated his life to the art of human bodies doing super human feats. If your life and career have been enriched by Lu Yi, or if you've enjoyed performances by his many students in the Pickle Family Circus, Circus Bella, Cirque du Soleil and others, this is your chance to say 'Thank You.'
The circus community, especially in the Bay Area where Lu Yi has lived and worked for nearly 3 decades, has a deep tradition of helping our own in times of need. Lu Yi has been working for a few months with a bilingual specialist, Dr. Huang. Each visit has help enhance Lu Yi's quality of live. But insurance doesn't cover these visits. A portion of these funds will go to ensure Lu Yi has access to these life altering treatments.
The rest of the funds will allow Lu Yi to visit his home in China one last time while he is still mobile. Even with the treatments, he cannot sit for the 12+ hour flight. With our help, we can purchase flight tickets in upgraded seats that accommodate Lu Yi's physical limitations. This will be a truly remarkable opportunity for Lu Yi and his wife to visit friends, family and former students in Nanjing.
Lu Yi has brought so much beauty and wonder to the world. It's time for you and your friends and family to step up and help Lu Yi find comfort and reconnect with his homeland one final time.
