The Story

Lucas is your typical (almost) 7 year old boy who loves Sonic, Minecraft and anything boy. He is the loving son of Jerrett and Danielle Sellers and brother to big sister Makayla and little brother Logan. He is a sweet kind-hearted kid who has a long road ahead of him. He has been diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and will begin chemotherapy in the new few weeks.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is the most common type of cancer in children. It affects certain cells in the immune system, called B cells and T cells. The disease starts in your bone marrow, which is the spongy center of bones where new blood cells grow. The leukemia cells grow very fast and crowd the bone marrow, so the bone marrow has trouble making enough normal cells. Chemotherapy is commonly used to treat the disease. The treatments usually last 3 years. Most of the time doctors don’t know what causes B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

We ask if at all possible, to donate whatever amount you can to help pay for all the unforeseen medical expenses the family will endure over the course of Lucas’ treatment.

You never think anything this devastating will happen to you. Please keep the Sellers family in your thoughts and prayers.

Last week Lucas had his first treatment day at clinic and his second spinal tap done. His results came back and everything looked good.

Yesterday he had his second treatment day. His “ANC” and hemoglobin weren’t as good as last week but not low enough for us to stay at the hospital. Thank the Lord 🙌🏻

Even when his legs hurt or he just doesn’t feel good he doesn’t complain one bit. We couldn’t be more proud of how strong he is. ❤️

Thank you all for the continuous love and support and prayers.

It means so much to us and him 🧡

After 10 days of being apart our little munchkins were finally reunited. ❤️

We are finally home. Lucas’s hemoglobin and “ANC” numbers were just high enough for us to come home. Tomorrow he’ll have a little R&R before we begin our treatments at clinic.

We have a long journey ahead of us but we know we got this.

Thank you all for the prayers, love and support.

The last couple of days he hasn’t been feeling too hot. He’s only had minor symptoms from the chemo (leg pain, exhaustion). Pretty happy about that considering the alternatives.

Today he had his second blood transfusion and it gave him a little boost of energy.

He had his third round of chemo this afternoon. And besides leg pain he’s taking it pretty well.

The doctors are watching his white blood cell count  because they have dropped lower than when we came in. And as long as the come back up we can go home this weekend! 😃

We still appreciate all the love and support we continue to get everyday.

Thank you all for the prayers 🧡🧡🧡

And he got to cuddle Nugget while he got chemo.
