"A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees." -Amelia Earhart
With our deepest condolences, the Vietnamese Voluntary Foundation (VIVO), Office of Councilmember Raul Peralez, and Office of Councilmember Tam Nguyen asks for your help for four beloved members of our community.
On Saturday, November 18th, 2017, a fire ravaged the Le family’s apartment building in downtown San Jose, California. The flames took the lives of Ms. Linh Le (mother), Thuong Le (son) and Yvonne Le (daughter) and left Mr. Khoa Le (father) in critical condition; through his resilience and strength, he regained conscious in the hospital.
To assist with Mr. Le’s long road to recovery and to honor the Le family members’ passing, we are raising funds for funeral costs and recovery services. Since the fire also displaced three families in the same apartment building, we will also allocate a small portion of the funds to help them.
Considering the recent fires in Golden Wheel Mobile Home Park in San Jose three months ago, house fires can affect anyone at any given time and location. One family’s tragedy is the entire community’s tragedy. Taking care of each other empowers the community during challenging times and uncertainties.
