On August 11th, 2016, mere days after the close of a wonderful production celebrating 30 years of KLP history, the barn used to store all set materials and large props collected over 30 years, burned to the ground. It was a total loss.
Like many community theater groups, we are a group of people doing theater for the sheer love and joy of it, and to spread the love of live theater throughout our community. Ticket sales and other fundraising efforts barely cover the costs of our operating expenses from year to year, and each budgets often involve a great deal of creative gymnastics and incredible local talent to build magical worlds onstage using only a shoestring. Our larger set pieces were used and repainted many times, and we counted every screw and wheel. Now we have the challenge, and the opportunity, of starting from scratch and rebuilding our stock, one show at a time. Any help would be welcome, and greatly appreciated.
