Posted on July 29, 2016Hey guys so I thought I would give yall some updates on my life regarding my housing situation. If you didn't know yet, I'm dealing with 3 people: a realtor, my future roommate, and the landlord (future roommate's aunt).
So the original move in date was supposed to be August 14th, but my future roommate called me and told me that her aunt was dealing with family health issues and would need to travel out of the country and won't be returning until the last week of august, so my move in date has been pushed back to September 1st. It made me really upset because I had turned in all of my paperwOrkney in early so that I could meet with the landlord early and take care of everything before August so that all I had to do was have the money ready. But apparently the realtor was a little busy getting everything together and the aunt had a family emergency come up so I will be homeless for longer than I had expected.
I talked to the realtor and had her see if she could find alternative living spaces for me for around the same price or more (1 bedrooms and studios), and so far she has found nothing in the city of Boston.
My future roommate called me last week and told me that she wanted to meet with me so we can go over everything before she went on vacation, and mentions that I will need to complete a credit check. It kinda took me aback because after all of our conversation, I always ask if there was anything else I needed to submit, and the answer was none until now. It made me nervous because student loans had ravaged my credit so bad that by the time I had finally gotten a job to start paying them off, my credit score was already too low for anything. When we finally met I explained to her my concerns, and she assured me that she only wanted me to do it because she wasn't sure if her aunt would need it or not, and our meeting with eachother would be last minute and we want to prevent delays when I would technically have less than a week to move in. She also assured me that she would present me to her aunt as the best possible tenant and vouch for 100% in case the aunt relies on the credit check. It makes me feel better, but with the way my life has gone, it's excruciatingly difficult to be optimistic, especially when everything I have hope for in the past has crashed and burned.
As of now my realtor has not found anything in Boston that does not require a credit check. Absolutely nothing. I continue to ask for your help and support because I really cannot do this alone. If everyone on my friends list could even donate 1 dollar, that would be awesome. If not, please share this as much as you can. I really really appreciate it so much for the support I have received so far.
