Joshua is the 8 year old son of Duane and Teresa Clark and has been diagnosed with Duchenne (doo-shen) Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). This condition is most often found in young boys with a steady weakening and atrophy of the muscles leading to the loss of the ability to walk. Joshua is already severely limited in his ability to walk and tires easily.
Joshua is the youngest of five - and with three older sisters, Jessica(16) Julia(14) and Joyanna(10) that think he is the cutest boy they have ever met, has no lack of care and attention. Joshua wants to weld like his older brother Johnathan.
It is our desire for our family to travel to San Francisco, CA to study and work with the School for Self-Healing. There is an opening the 2nd and 3rd week of July to work on Joshua and for all of us to learn and experience techniques to assist Joshua to stay out of a wheelchair as long as possible. One component of care involves hydrotherapy to enable ease of mobility and extend range of movement. Ongoing care for Joshua will include several hours of therapy daily at home and regular excursions to our local pool. We are committed to doing all we can to preserve the strength and abilities he still has.
Funds are needed for airfare, travel, lodging, treatment and therapy at the School for Self-Healing and extra expenses involved with caring for him. Thanks for all the prayer and support!
