On October 20th, 2017, our son, Jimmy, 9 years old, who was always full of life and energy was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma cancer. Even though multiple tumors were found in his cerebellum, frontal lobe, and spinal cord, this type of brain cancer is thankfully treatable with a long road of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Jimmy had a surgery on October 21st, performed by a brilliant neurosurgeon who removed most of the main tumors located in Jimmy's cerebellum. In addition, he underwent 6 weeks of proton therapy combined with chemotherapy. The results of the recent MRI from January were amazing; most of the tumors have shrunk significantly! However, we have not yet reached an end to the road. Jimmy is continuing his fight more and more every day with a lot of positive energy.
Today, he is undergoing a strong chemotherapy treatment that will last 6 months. Each treatment entails a minimum of 3 days at the hospital. As a family, we are going to need your help with funding for the all treatments (surgery, radiation, chemo, scans, and hospitalization).
We thank you so much for the generous help you have already given us.
