[Watch Jessi explain and shave her head: https://youtu.be/hNF5pIX8SRg]
Earlier this year, Those Darlins took a high-power final tour before parting ways to pursue other projects. Two weeks after the band broke up, lead singer Jessi Zazu was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Since then, she's been on a roller coaster fighting the disease. At one point, she spent a week in the ICU. Now, she's going through a second round of chemotherapy, charging head-on.
She's battle-ready, but fighting cancer is expensive. And while she's getting the best possible care, she has to spend most of her energy healing instead of working. As she goes forward, we want to make sure she's able to focus on her recovery without financial stress.
If Jessi has touched your life with her music, her social justice work or her amazing heart, please consider donating. Every little bit helps! We want to get her back onstage where she belongs.
In her own words: "There's a tumor growing on my body, I don't know what lays in store, but I ain't afraid anymore."
You can show you ain't afraid either, with shirts available at http://jessizazu.com/shop/aint-afraid-t-shirt. She'll be watching the hashtag #aintafraid on Instagram (@jessizazu), Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat for awesome pictures of fans and loved ones sending support.
Those who want to send Jessi notes, mix CDs or art to wish her well should address all mail to Jessi Zazu, P.O. Box 92017, Nashville, TN 37209.
Thanks in advance for your kindness and love.
