As many of you know, on the night of October 13th, Jessica and Antonio (aka.Tony) Cangiano were victims of a horrible tragedy. They lost their home and everything that was in it was destroyed due to a house fire caused by arson in an adjacent unit in their fourplex. Jessica, Tony, and their dog Annie were able to make it out safely without serious injuries, however they were forced to leave from smoke filling their unit and were unable to find their precious kitty Stella before they had to evacuate.
They got out with the clothes on their backs, their phones, a small purse and their vehicle. Everything else was destroyed. A lifetime of items collected between the two of them. All of their vintage items, books, sentimental gifts, childhood mementos, craft supplies, tech devices, cameras, and all the other countless items they both owned. All of the merchandise in Jessica's Etsy vintage shop was destroyed that night with the fire too.
As Jessica so openly talks about on her blog(ChronicallyVintage.com) she has long been fighting multiple battles with chronic illness. This extreme stress will no doubt have dire consequences and take a very heavy toll on her. Thankfully she has the love and support of her family and from all her amazing friends and the vintage community that has been so overwhelmingly supportive.
I am hoping that if in any way we can help to relieve some of the stress and trauma that they are experiencing that it may make this whole nightmare a little more bearable. I know that Jessica and Tony care so deeply for their friends and family and I believe if we come together and work to lift their spirits and make this process even a little bit less difficult than it will unfortunately be, that we will be able to help them recover and rebuild as quickly as possible.
I have had multiple people reach out asking how they can help Jessica and Tony. My intention by creating this you caring page is to help Jessica and Tony heal, and to get back on their feet. If you can help them in anyway whether it be a monetary gift, a vintage item donated, or a loving and healing prayer sent on their behalf, it will truly be appreciated beyond words.
Thank you in advance for finding this page, and for sending the encouragement that Jessica and Tony both need during this difficult time.
Sincerely, Katie Papou (Jessica’s younger sister)
