Hi everyone , WOW can you believe it , we reached our first goal thanks to all the incredible kindness and generosity and willingness to give from our hearts to help a family in need. Some of you have asked about where things go from here, so I wanted to provide you with an update.
Ariel has been able to come home but is receiving daily chemo in medications all throughout the day. Michelle has to drive her two days a week for treatment and blood work in the hospital which is very costly in gas. Michelle will have to take a leave of absence from her job for the next 30 days but we’re praying that Ariel will continue to improve and get stroger. I spoke to Michelle about her work situation and her insurance and below is how she responded. At this point I still want to continue this fundraiser to make sure the month of May is covered for them as well as far as their living expenses. With all the driving they are having to do back-and-forth to Portland and no other source of income coming in from Michelle all of your donations make a huge difference in relieving that stress off of them. Again thank you for all you have done for this family and just know that because of you all they are being taken care of.
My Name is Michelle. My daughter Ariel was diagnosed with leukemia on 3/28. When I called my work to get me FMLA started I was shocked to find that my short term disability would not apply since it wasn't me that was ill and the same for my medical assistance. With this diagnosis I'm gonna be out of work for a minimum of a month,if not more. Any assistance is extremely helpful. We do not currently know how much our hospital and Dr. bills will be.
