The Story

Jen started feeling run down and very ill in the fall of 2015. Being a devoted, busy Mom, she put off going to the doctor until she nearly died. She finally went to the hospital on New Years Eve after collapsing. She was in the hospital for almost a month and diagnosed with complete renal failure--all caused by massive kidney stones which had destroyed her kidneys. It has been a long year because of 16 surgeries, which were complicated by a rare blood disorder, I.T.P. This means her body attacks its platelets, which are needed to stop bleeding. She has been on dialysis since January 2016 and is now completing testing for a kidney transplant. Jen is a mother to three beautiful kids, and she needs a kidney transplant to ensure that she can be around for them and to see her future grandchildren. Due to several complications relating to dialysis, it is not going to be a long term solution for her kidney disease. A transplant is her only long term option. Her blood disorder makes finding a match even more difficult so she must cast a wide net. Jen's dedicated husband, Brian will have to take off 6 weeks of work after the transplant, as required in writing, and the medicine that she will have to take for the rest of her life will cost thousands of dollars a month. Thank you in advance to everyone who donates. Brian works very hard, but as you can imagine, the cost of this devastating illness, takes a huge toll financially, spiritually and emotionally on the whole family. It means the world to her and her family.
