Ruger was shot while his former owner was shooting at police officers, attempting to avoid arrest for manslaughter. Police officers rushed Ruger to the vet after a bullet became embedded in Ruger's body. The Knox County Sheriff (Vincennes) paid for Ruger's vet bills and then rescuers reached out to us for help. Ruger has very little feeling in his back legs. We are going to continue Ruger's recovery with water therapy at East Side Animal Hospital. Deputy Bishop, who initially took Ruger to the vet, paid for Ruger's wheelchair. We are now raising funds for Ruger's therapy and needs while we work on rebuilding lost muscle mass and teaching him how to function without feeling in his back legs. The therapy has helped so far, and Ruger has gained some muscle mass and even a little feeling in his back paws. Please help us with donations in any amount and maybe Ruger will one day have a miracle with more feeling in his back legs after therapy.
