The summer seminar "Europe & Liberty", organised by Institute for Market Economics (IME) and Institute for Economic Studies (IES - Europe) has been hugely successful in last seven years (2011-2017).
Due to some funding issues, we invite you to support our initiative in 2018. IME will host both a crowdfunding campaign and a direct fundraising campaign focused on IME donors and alumni of the seminar. The goal of the campaign is to fund participants cost - the seminar is completely free for the participants.
Cost per participant is around 190 EUR.
The seminar will be week long as usual and will be in the period 22-28 July, 2018. Already confirmed lecturers are Pierre Garello (IES-Europe), Doug Rasmussen (St. John's University), Christian Nasulea (University of Bucharest), Krassen Stanchev (IME) and Petar Ganev (IME).
Participants will be around 36 and the group will be diverse - at least 10 countries represented (like in last 7 years), while the Bulgarian group stays the biggest (usually around 10 participants from Bulgaria).
The seminar offer interdisciplinary introduction to the tradition of classical liberal thought. Subjects to be covered include economics, history, ethics, political philosophy and law. The seminars shall be seen as a unique opportunity to boost one's understanding of the classical liberal principles of individual rights, private property, and free markets and their applications to today's issues.
More information can be found on IME page (in Bulgarian) and IES page (in English)
Petar Ganev, Senior Research Fellow at IME, is in charge of the seminar and the campaign.
