Peru is going through a difficult situation. As peruvian doctors we are volunteering to implement a refuge for those who need It the Most: children from the outskirts of the Capital who not only have to deal with the adverse outcome of natural phenomena, but with a difficult Health condition. Please take one minute to check our initial motivation that takes even more importance now in order to host the estimated increase in patients coming to Lima due to the loss of infrastructure - such hospitals.
Hello Friends! We are a group of Peruvian-born doctors seeking to improve the lives of our patients.
Through years of education, training, and loans, we never forgot why we became physicians: to help patients.
We have been fortunate to be trained around the world, yet we found ourselves back in Lima for a few months, where we have seen firsthand, since medical school, how poverty prevents patients from getting the treatment they need.
A large number of pediatric patients that receive care in referral hospitals in Lima come from other regions of the country, and families that arrive with them do not usually have a permanent place to stay. These families have to spend a significant amount of money in living costs, in order to stay close to their child in the hospital. Currently, few organizations try to help these families, but more collaboration is needed. Therefore, we would like to raise money to bring aid directly to patients through a long-standing organization that provides support to patients in the biggest pediatric hospital in Peru: The Group of Volunteering Ladies at Children's Hospital - San Borja, Peru (http://www.insnsb.gob.pe/voluntariado/
- President: Mrs. Maritza Novoa).
We would like to allocate a donation of 5 750 US dollars for the incredible group of Volunteering ladies at Children's Hospital - San Borja, Peru, who have been able to receive, through a donation, an unfurnished area that could host the poorest families and help them with housing, and food costs so that they can stay with their loved ones. Our goal with this campaign is to maximize the impact of every dollar and help as many patients as possible. We truly want to help patients in highest risk and their relatives and know that people like you and us care for them. We understand that you are placing a huge trust in us, and we take this responsibility seriously. Meet the team:Sofía:
