Puerto Rico, an island known for its green forests and vibrant people, was recently devastated by Hurricane Maria. While many survived the intense winds, contaminated water, lack of electricity, and low rations of food and hygiene products are now urgent concerns. The Puerto Rican people are a resilient community, but now more than ever, they need our help!
Physicians and students at the University of Florida College of Medicine are aiming to raise $50,000 to provide basic health and medical supplies such as medications, hygiene products, and water filtration systems to hospital and church distribution points we have partnered with on the island. These hospitals let us know what they need then we deliver!
Many families are having to evacuate, mine included. Having their island devastated has changed their lives permanently. However, help us re-establish the health of the Puerto Rican people so the re-build back to a vibrant, green island can begin!
