My name is Jami Henley. I am offering an opportunity for you to be a part of a fundraising event that I and many in the community hold near and dear to our hearts. There is a new playground being built in the Woodbine-Sykesville area off of woodbine road. It is a park that will be finished this spring which will be called Krimgold Park. There will be Football/Soccer fields, Baseball/Softball diamonds, as well as 4 stocked ponds for fishing. Krimgold Park will provide more opportunities for the Winfield and Freedom Rec councils and communities. Our towns are growing and we need more room for our little ones to play. This park will provide us with more land and availability for sporting events. Within this park there is a designated area for a playground. Although the sporting fields have had sufficient backing from the county, the playground still needs help with funding.
Bohde David Henley, my 4 year young adorable little boy with baby blue eyes and a heart of pure gold did not win his fight against cancer. He joined his 32 year old father in heaven this past October 3, 2014. His father, my husband also lost his battle against this horrible disease December 23, 2012. I want to propose building and evolving this playground in honor of our little boy, Boh. We need your help with this opportunity. My personal goal is for the community to come together and help us put together "Bohdes Place" (the playground).
If you have ever lost a loved one, I hold you close to my heart. The feeling is crippling at times. I often feel as if my heart has been ripped from my chest. Then I see his smile. That tiny little grin that most often was accompanied by a giggle and I can't help but smile back as if he's right there with me. Missing him is an understatement. We want this playground to cultivate those very smiles. The kind of smiles you'll remember forever and in memory of our little Boh at "Bohdes Place."
Thank you for your time in reading this. I wish you all the goodness that life has to offer.
