The Story

Hurricane Harvey has caused widespread catastrophic flooding and damage in Southeastern Texas and Hurricane Irma currently threatens Florida. Fellow employees across multiple Heico companies including Bo-Mac, CECO, Kenmor and National Strand have suffered and the financial toll from these storms will continue to rise long after the storms have passed.

If you wish to show your support for fellow employees most in need, please consider making a donation to the Heico Relief Fund. Although contributions are not tax deductible, 100% of donations to this fund will support employees directly impacted by these disasters. Cash grants will fund relief in the form of emergency supplies including food, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term assistance to help our families recover and rebuild.  Funds will be allocated equitably by a committee consisting of Heico employees and a record of all disbursements will be made available to donors upon request.  No administrative fees will be deducted from donations.

Fundraiser Updates

Due to payment processing issues that some of our early contributors encountered while attempting to donate, we have made the switch from PayPal to YouCaring's other credit card and payment processing provider, WePay.  We hope this change alleviates any of the earlier issues that donors may have encountered and ultimately makes contributing as easy as possible.

As noted in a past update, please do not hesitate to contact Dan Golub at 630-353-5009 or [email protected] if you run into any issues while making a contribution.

Thank you again for all of the support received to date!

As a follow-up to the Sept 9th update, YouCaring provided the feedback below regarding why some users may experience issues when attempting to contribute.  As a reminder, for large contributions (>$1,000), see the Sept 11th update for alternative options to ease any contribution pains that you might be experiencing.

"This can happen when donors have reached a limit on the number of purchases allowed with PayPal's checkout option, or if the card in use is tied to an existing PayPal account. Both of these situations would require a donor to sign into a PayPal account to issue a payment.

PayPal tracks guest purchases on all websites, not just through YouCaring, and declines payments once their limit is reached. If a donor is being declined for this reason, their only option will be to either create a PayPal account or login with an existing account. In the same way, users who have added a credit card to an existing PayPal account as a payment method will be required to sign into their PayPal account when using the credit card to donate.

Unfortunately, PayPal does not disclose the exact reasons why credit cards are not accepted by guest checkout."

The response from the Heico organization has been outstanding so far!  However, we have noticed in some circumstances larger donations (>$1,000) may result in difficulties in completing the contribution using credit card or via PayPal.  If you are experiencing issues with a larger donation, please reach out to Dan Golub at Heico Corporate Treasury, who can walk you through an alternative option in making your contribution.  Dan can be reached during business hours at 630-353-5009, or via email any time at [email protected].  Contributions made through this route will still allow for the same messaging as other donors/supporters, and will be included in the overall fund totals displayed on the site.
