Our celebration is less than a week away and we still have a million things to do before the big day!! Planning this party sort of reminds me of planning wedding very year... Cams and I have been doing it for so long that we each have our duties down pat! I'm so thankful for all the help from friends and family who pitch in and make this a success..
Each year, I dedicate the night to my fellow meso warriors, and this year I honor two very special men who sadly left us this past year, Bruce Jackson and Mike Busse. Both men are Minnesotan and touched my heart deeply. Bruce brought the gift of music to a few of our celebrations, and although Mike never was able to attend, he and his family are very special to me. I always reflect back to the many, many warriors I've known through the years, those who are still with us, currently fighting, or have passed. I know how blessed I am, to still be here, to be able to have this celebration, and the fact that so many can't, is not lost on me.. despite the celebratory mood of the night, the seriousness of the disease I fought is always present. It is why I am doing this fundraiser. It is why I keep raising my goal every year, because mesothelioma is grossly underfunded, asbestos awareness is no where what it needs to be, and that is why I donate the money to The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, and The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization. It is an honor to do what I can to help them in their mission. I cannot do it without you though. Your generosity, your willingness to share my passion with others is what gets me to my goal, and in turn helps them in theirs.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for your support, it means more to me than you can possibly know.... So on February 4th, join me in conquering your fears... I will be broadcasting live from Facebook, and I hope you can be there with us, either virtually, or in person..
All my love,
