Day 4 – Final Day
The LAST day! I had the luxury of an extra hour of sleep before heading north to Gregory Town for the last 20 miles at 6.30. It was a rainy, windy day, which made the walk more bearable though Lower and Upper Bogue seemed endless. We managed a short jog through the settlement to avoid the attention of a romantic drunk to finally arrive in Bluff at 1.15. We were greeted by my Mum and Diane, flying flags, blowing horns and generally embarrassing themselves. I do have to say I have never been so pleased to see anyone. I want to say thank you to Fraser for his drone photography along the way and all his time. A big thank you to my Dad who joined me for the first 30 miles and to Zoe for 3 days of endless laughter. Thanks also to Henry. And love to my Mum and Diane for support, food, water and clean socks along the way. Thank you everyone for all the words of encouragement and having the faith in me to finish this long walk as there were moments I felt like collapsing.
