On January 14, 2018 I will be running my first ever marathon in the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Arizona. I will be raising funds with all proceeds being donated to the Guardian Angel Basset Rescue.
Guardian Angel Basset Rescue has spent years saving and providing the necessary care to Basset Hounds from all over the United States. GABR has changed thousands of lives of not only Bassets, but also the lives of those that are lucky enough to foster or adopt these lovable dogs.
I anticipate my training to be painful. I know my runs will be difficult. What is truly difficult, however, are the lives that these Bassets endure before GABR can rescue them and lead them on the road to recovery. I am inspired by the efforts of this amazing foundation that never gives up, and I will think about the resilience of these dogs as I motivate myself to put one foot in front of the other, over and over again for 26.2 miles.
As I begin my journey, I encourage you to get involved. I am raising money for GABR so we can further extend the positive impact on more lives across the country. Of course, I’ll be paying for all expenses of the marathon myself; every penny donated will be given directly to GABR to support the rescue.
I aim to raise $2,620 – first as a tribute to the 26.2 miles I look to complete in January and secondly because I thought $26,200,000 to be a bit ambitious. Every dollar you donate, including any extra funds that are raised above the $2,620 goal, will be donated directly into the GABR bank account. Supporting GABR by contributing $1 for every mile I run is equivalent to a $26.20 charitable donation.
Please support the tireless, good-hearted work of Guardian Angel Basset Rescue with a donation today. Whether you want to donate by the mile or a single amount, no donation is too small!
Thank you, and I hope that together, we can provide just a little extra support to a foundation that selflessly supports those without a voice.
