Today is "Giving Tuesday," a global day of giving fueled by social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and following the shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the season in which many of us make our year-end or holiday gifts.
This holiday season, please consider support for our Relief Fund for Guana Island Employees. We have almost reached our goal -- just $8,240 to go!
Our heartfelt thanks to those who have already given. You are helping employees such as James Daley and his family. When the hurricane hit, they were living in a duplex. After their shutters and doors blew off, James sent his wife and kids downstairs but got pinned in one corner of the house. A tornado sucked him out of the house and he landed on broken glass, eventually needing surgery to remove the shards from his feet. They are now living downstairs, as the upstairs of their building is exposed and uninhabitable. He says that rebuilding will be a long, hard road, but he is grateful for the support of so many caring individuals.
Again, thank you!
