Muller + Muller, Primera, and Hitchcock Design Group are teaming up to participate in Canstruction for the 8th year in a row. Each team is required to use a minimum of 3500 cans. Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 to be able to purchase all of the cans we need to build our ‘cansculpture’. This year our ‘can’cept is to honor the late, great musician Prince (Prince Rogers Nelson) by constructing his famous Love Symbol. The more money we raise, the more cans we can purchase, and increase the size of our sculpture!
Any contribution that you make is greatly appreciated by us and by those that benefit from the Greater Chicago Food Depository. This event is always their largest single fundraiser, and last year over 90,000 pounds of food was donated! Your participation will have a large impact on Chicago’s fight against hunger. All donors will be recognized on our team board next to the cansculpture in the Merchandise Mart. Thank you very much for your support of our team.Canstruction Chicago
(under the umbrella of Canstruction) is a design/build event which benefits the Greater Chicago Chicago Food Depository
. Teams comprised of professionals from the AEC industry fundraise for, design, and build structures composed of non perishable food items. These “Cansculptures” are housed in the first floor of the Merchandise Mart and are on display to the public as a giant art exhibition. The “Cansculptures” are judged in various categories by a celebrity chef and prominent members of the AEC industry. Canstruction Chicago culminates in an awards presentation at the Merchandise Mart. Structures will be built August 10th, and remain on display until September 5th.
